Girlfriends 2011 Getaway Cruise
Ever been to Jamaica? Would you like to go? How about with your best girlfriends-seems fun, huh?
Well we can definitely help out with that!!! We are co-hosting a girlfriend's cruise with Premier Travel One in September of 2011 to bring you the best girlfriend getaway ever, complete with a shoe party!!!
Men are encouraged to go as well-how fun would it be to be on a cruise full of hot ladies!!! There are special tasks for the men to do, so if you're interested or know of any male who is, direct them to us!

For Colored Girls Private Screening A Success!!!
We would like to thank all of the ladies (and our gentleman) for packing out our theater this past Friday night to see the new Tyler Perry film-it was deep, huh? It definitely brought a lot of issues to the forefront, and it is our opinion that it was a must-see for every woman, not just "colored girls," because we see it as being more of a gender-based movie than a race-based one. We hope that you enjoyed yourself thoroughly-we definitely enjoyed having you, and be on the lookout for more events to come.

We're celebrating our 1 year anniversary!!!
Yes! October 30th marks the one year anniversary of Shades of Ebony Events and our subsidiary company "Sole of a Woman!" It has been a rough year, alot of bumps in the road, but we're still here, and that's most important!!! We have had a great time, learned loads, and will continue to do both as we embark on the 2nd year of our entrepreneurial journey!!! We hope to see may of you out at Suite 143 to help us celebrate this momentous occasion; we are very excited to have the opportunity to celebrate in such a grand fashion at the hottest new lounge in the city-come out and kick it with us!!!

"Waiting for Superman"
Have you guys heard about this movie? I'm shocked at how many people haven't...it's only been talked about by some of the biggest names in the country right now, Oprah, Bill Gates, the facebook guy (yeah, I know his name, but I like to call him that), even Diddy (you drink his vodka because he tells you to so you should probably go see this documentary!!!)...this documentary is going to change the way you view our educational system here in the United States.
If you are a parent, auntie, school teacher, mentor, or just someone who cares about our schools here in the U.S. you have to go see this movie...they're doing a good job keeping it under wraps because it makes our public school system look like crap-this is more of a reason to go see it. Get your people together, and go out to see this movie-it's UBER important!!!
